Hilltop National Bank, headquartered in Casper, Wyoming, opened for business in the Hilltop Shopping Center
on July 27, 1964. The bank was founded by nine local businessmen and was one of only five financial institutions
serving our community at that time. Hilltop National Bank was chartered with $250,000 in capital and employed
seven full-time employees.
On May 25, 1977, the family of H. A. “Dave” True, Jr., an independent oilman, purchased the bank. In December
of 1979, the bank moved from its storefront location into a new building at 300 Country Club Road. The Main Office
is still at that location, and has since added five additional branches – four in Casper and one in Glenrock.
As of December 31, 2007, Hilltop National Bank had total assets of $409 million and 151 employees.
The time and temperature sign at the Main Office has become a landmark on the east side of town. Three flags
are prominently displayed from the 3rd floor deck, lighted at night, and are visible from most locations east of
the building. The time and temperature sign at our Mountain Plaza Office has become a landmark on the west side
of our community. There are two branches in the Downtown area - a full-service walk-up facility and a drive-up
motor bank. Another branch is located in the Safeway store on the east side of Casper and offers expanded hours
for customer convenience, including Saturday banking. Our Glenrock branch provides full-service banking for
customers living and working in that nearby community.
Hilltop National Bank has been locally owned and managed since 1964 – a true community bank. Hilltop is proud
of our local heritage and places a very high priority on being a good community partner. The bank maintains an
“Outstanding” rating on its Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) examination, most recently updated in January of 2008.
Bank employees donate thousands of hours every year to worthwhile community projects and deserving non-profit
agencies in our Casper and Glenrock communities.
